Peg Drawings 2022
These works on paper which I call peg drawings, are made from found material, altered by folds, marks, dips, and holes, reinforced through scoring, dipping in thick paints and plasters. They are the result of curiosity about pegs and holes, what it means to make a mark, and an impatience with the limited means we have to show paper based objects. The pegs are a part of the work, the works are built in space and layers, affected by motion, and complete in each arrangement. They are a bright talisman to bless an area from the wall, and they each hold a distinct creative charge by way of each's shape, color, form and motion.
