This group of individual forms occupies a table. Over the course of the exhibition each is found closed up, flopped open, and in various states of reveal. Each is made out of it's own collection of component parts, dense, airy, bright, dark. Collections of stuff with outer and inner layers, in various states of vulnerabiilty and proximity to one another. My inspiration is we people: The conditions, beliefs, genetic traits and patterns that both distinguish and make us not so different from one another, and not so solid and clearly defined as we may consider ourselves.
These objects, about 7 x 7 x 7” in their smallest form, are assembled for the exhibition. While on view, they are shifted - opening, closing: changed, by the artist.
