In this project, gallery sitters use personal observations of interaction, internal mood, physical states, and events in the gallery as catalysts for placing blocks while sitting in the gallery. A binder offers them instructions and groupings of tape marks for hungry, bored, physical complaints, positive mindset, other, and blocks for eye contact, people entering the space, and verbal interaction. The emphasis is on connecting with their own experience and registering it by placing marks and tape, not on exposing those states directly to viewers. The sitters also take photos every day of the expanding accumulation.
