Project Statement: A time and place from several perspectives
Using directions, markers and a system designed for the site and the occasion, I invited five people to record their individual experiences of the hilltop plateau of Kingsley Park in 30 degree weather. Each observer left a red marker at each point of observation, where they'd stopped to write; these markers formed a messy grid and trace of their activity bedind. Orienting text was offered to curious dogwalkers and the park ranger who popped in. We left the markers up only long enough to document.

Three pairs of legs are visible, standing along a flourescent pink 'line'. There are bright red-pink plastic bottles at the feet of two of these pairs of legs: the first marks indicating a point of observation.

    The starting line

The angle of this shot is from the ground up. There is one plastic poland springs bottle, with a film of pink-red covering the bottom two thirds of it, sitting in the snow. This bottle is right of the frame's center. The horizon line is about halfway up the photo, the top half of which is trees through which sky and distant tree tops can be seen. Above the horizon line to the left of the center frame, are three observers, standing, the closest one facing us, the other two facing to the right. The bottle is much larger than the three individuals in the frame. The colors are very vivid.
